Freya Pitts
Freya Pitts is a Senior Attorney on the National Center for Youth Law's Legal Advocacy team. Freya litigates impact cases to advance the rights of children and youth nationwide. She works across the organization's program areas on cases involving family regulation, immigration, mental health, and education systems.
Before joining the National Center for Youth Law, Freya represented young people with disabilities in impact cases as an attorney at Disability Rights Advocates. She is also a former law clerk to the Honorable Judith W. Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the Honorable Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Before law school, Freya was a sixth grade teacher near Atlanta. She received both her bachelor's degree and her law degree from Yale University.
Freya is based in Oakland. She loves curling up with a good book and planning adventures with her husband and her young son.
